Cat in the window, peeks at the sun
only briefly - no burns.
What does it become for you?
A nuisance, a pleasurable warmth,
a hot bright critter that flys
... too slowly to be of interest?

Inspired by one of our cats lying on a cat shelf in the window... early morn watching the neighborhood birds with sleepy eyes, she looked very briefly at the sun, blinked, went back to eyes closed snooze.
What do animals think of, what part of the world do they see themselves in, and what, if anything, do they make out of things like the moon, sun, stars, clouds, etc.? I had just viewed two pieces that, when taken together, probably was the match that lit that little candle under my derriere to submit something new. [link] and [link] |

The world is an eraser for these words
- Jack Kerouac
joy is a height best measured from the depths

"No matter where you go, there you are..."
"Fall down seven times, get up eight."
"When mundanity sings its song of dull, and days not interesting are, surreal tickles my brain to life again."
